Welcome to the thick of Winter! We're either nesting, napping, or dreaming of warming up in exotic locales… Possibly all of those things at once 🤷🏼♀️
One of the easiest ways to brighten your winter days is through scent. That's right. You can transform your space or MOOD entirely without having to remodel or board a flight to the unknown!
Here at the GNCC, we craft fragrances with the intent of elevating your life through scent, while creating a comforting environment. In the past decade of doing this, we have met with countless customers who needed help choosing the right scents for their environments.
Since we can't meet with everyone in person, I recently decided to create an educational guide to help with choosing fragrances for the rooms of your home, or workspace.

Without further adieu, let's dive in!
Bedroom Scents:
We'll begin with selecting a scent for the bedroom! For most people, the bedroom is a sanctuary. A place to retreat during all of life's moments. This makes choosing a scent that promotes peace and relaxation, pretty important! So you'll want to save our addictive gourmand fragrances like our "BenJer" or "Spill the Tea" for other areas around your abode, time or else, you may end up with the bedtime munchies instead 🍞 🫖 (though we won't judge if that's your thing!) 🤣
The scents listed below are just the tip of the iceberg, but you can't go wrong with any of these, to start!
• "Lavender Haze" is a scent that works pretty much anywhere, but it's my number one suggestion for anyone desiring a relaxing, yet bougie scent for their boudoir. This blend isn't a traditional lavender, either. Infused with jasmine and musk, it takes an exotic turn, creating a fragrance that you will want around your room on the regular. Don't forget to add a pillow and body mist, for those moments that you want a quick burst of lasting Lavender Haze!
• Our second bedroom scent choice happens to be a woody, aromatic unisex blend! "When Figs Fly" is a spa-like that is a beautiful blend of fig tree leaves, cedar, and white woods with hints of Jasmine and Forest Moss. Most customers who have purchased this scent have it on reorder before it runs out. It's the perfect scent for a bedroom but also wonderful in the bathroom or in your main living area.
• Our third choice for the bedroom (choosing favorites is REALLY hard, trust us) would be "Cigarettes After Sex", with its sexy orchid and peony floral notes, that are blended perfectly with the depth of tobacco leaf and relaxing vanilla milk. Cigarettes after Sex has been a customer favorite at the GNCC since 2019 and is one that we would recommend to anyone who is just starting their elevated fragrance explorations.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention to one of our newer creations, that is a sexy scent for the bedroom! It has been wildly popular amongst our customers and was inspired by "Casual" by Chappell Roan. If you want a sexy, musky, fruity but not sweet candle, check out "C'est Décontracté". Its peachy-tonka-sandalwood notes send all who smell this highly addicting scent into a frenzy. It's a really sexy fragrance that is perfect to incorporate into your bedroom candle rituals! (And also perfect everywhere else in the house!)
Bath and Beyond
Have you ever visited the restroom after someone tried to mask the smell with a "Glade" Apple or Vanilla spray and gagged because it did anything BUT mask it? Yeah, us too. We don't wish that on anyone so we are going to recommend some scents below that will help avoid those sitch's! Since not all bathrooms are used the same, we feel there are a few different ways to choose a suitable scent! For example, an en-suite bathroom may not be frequented by anyone but you and your beloveds, where a guest bathroom gets a lot of traffic! So for an en-suite you could choose an elevated scent that invigorates your daily routine, while a guest bathroom could offer a stronger, luxe fragrance to give your guest bathroom a fragrance with that special Je ne sais quoi.
"Pink Pony Club" is a luxurious blend of creamy vanilla, light ylang-ylang, and musk, with hints of jasmine and coconut that complements any room, but especially one of the most traveled rooms of your house. We love Pink Pony Club in the bedroom too, but it is our favorite choice for a space where visitors are sure to visit and be impressed when they do!
For a more sophisticated scent, "Cullen House" brings a bougie-woody vibe to the room. It's complex blend of notes helps mask those "other" bathroom scents perfectly, leaving embarassment behind when a guest has gotta go! 🙊 Cullen House is formulated with a bright, citrusy burst of bergamot and grapefruit, that are then expertly balanced by a hint of rum, white oak, clove, labdanum, and earthy patchouli that add a refined elegance. Smoky tobacco intertwines with warm golden amber, while supple leather and verdant moss add depth and sophistication. This meticulously crafted fragrance evokes the essence of a grand, timeless estate in the deep Forest, offering your guests an experience that elevates a simple bathroom visit into a memorable sensory one. Cullen House is well suited for a Guest Bathroom, as well as a Utility Room or Garage Bathroom. While it is a unisex blend, loved by all, it is definitely a fragrance that Men love as much as Women.
Our third bathroom pick is "Great Salish", a beloved special creation blending woody notes that also help to mask odor. Wood and herbaceous notes are always a great choice for a high-traffic bathroom, because again, they help mask odors more than a gourmand or light lemon scent will any day!
By now, I'm betting you're well on your way to being an expert at choosing and pairing room scents, but I will be back again with parts two and three soon!
However, I can't leave without sharing my recs for that Master Bathroom!
I adore a good spa scent for the master bathroom, when I'm not matching it with my bedroom scent! My two current favorite choices that I am alternating in my master bathroom are: "Never Say Die" and "San Juan Springs". Both of these bring a zen scent to the atmosphere and are crafted with aquatic notes that create a fresh, clean scent without being cloying like big brand "fresh and clean" fragrances tend to be.
