Great Northern Fragrance Co., Great Northern Candle Co., and Joy Diffusion Perfumes are brands of the same small, independent studio in Portland, Oregon. They share one website, one checkout, one customer account system, and one set of mailing lists. These Terms apply to every part of the website, including our Great Northern Fragrance Co. collections and our Joy Diffusion Perfumes pages.

Our products include handmade candles, artisan fragrance products, and other small-batch goods. Minor variations in appearance, color, wax surface, label placement, fragrance character, or other handmade characteristics may occur and are not necessarily defects.
Fragrance perception is subjective and may vary with environment, skin chemistry, temperature, application, and individual perception. A fragrance that smells different than expected, or that develops differently on an individual wearer, is not by itself a defective product.
Fragrance descriptions, scent notes, and references to music, film, stories, places, or other inspirations describe the mood or character of a product. They do not mean that we are affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any artist, studio, brand, or rights holder.
We make reasonable efforts to show product colors, packaging, sizes, and photographs accurately. However, appearance may vary with screen settings, lighting, packaging updates, photography, and device displays.
We reserve the right to limit sales of products to any person, geographic region, jurisdiction, household, customer account, or order where permitted by law. We may limit product quantities and may discontinue products at any time.
Product descriptions, fragrance notes, imagery, packaging, and pricing may be updated without prior notice.
Any offer for a product is void where prohibited.
We reserve the right to refuse, limit, or cancel an order where permitted by law.
We may limit quantities purchased per person, household, customer account, payment method, billing address, or shipping address. We may also limit or prohibit orders that, in our reasonable judgment, appear to be placed for unauthorized resale, fraudulent purposes, abuse of promotions, or other improper use.
If we cancel or materially change an order, we may attempt to notify you using the email address, phone number, billing information, or other contact information provided at checkout.
You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information, and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for reviewing your order before completing checkout, including product selection, quantity, fragrance, size, billing information, shipping information, and contact information.
If you discover an ordering error, please contact us right away at courtney@thegncc.com. Customer-service emails are reviewed during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, excluding holidays.
Contacting us does not guarantee that an order can be changed or canceled. Orders may enter processing before an email is received or reviewed. Once an order has entered processing, been packaged, or been prepared for shipment, we may be unable to cancel or change it.

Some products may be offered as a subscription, pre-order, or other special purchase arrangement. These purchases are also subject to our Purchase Options Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Current order-processing estimates are posted on our website. They may change based on order volume, launches, promotions, holidays, or other business conditions.
Processing time and carrier transit time are separate. An order that is still within the processing timeframe posted when it was placed is not considered delayed just because it has not yet shipped.
Once an order has been handed to a shipping carrier, carrier transit times and delays are outside our direct control. Estimated delivery dates provided by carriers are estimates, not guarantees, unless the carrier expressly states otherwise or the law requires.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

From time to time we may offer discount codes, signup offers, automatic discounts, free-shipping offers, gift-with-purchase offers, sales, or rewards. Unless the terms of a specific offer say otherwise:
Each offer is subject to the terms shown with it, including any minimum purchase, eligible products, eligibility requirements, expiration date, and usage limits.
Discount codes are limited to one use per customer and cannot be combined with other discounts, including free-shipping offers.
Discounts apply to eligible products only, and not to taxes or gift cards.
Offers that require you to be subscribed to our emails, text messages, or both are available only to customers who are subscribed at the time the code is used.
Offers have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be applied to past orders.
If an order that used a discount is refunded in part or in full, the refund reflects the amount you actually paid.
We may change or end any promotion at any time. We may refuse or cancel orders that, in our reasonable judgment, involve abuse of a promotion, such as using multiple accounts, false information, or codes obtained without being eligible.
If we offer a rewards or loyalty program, points and rewards are subject to the terms of that program, have no cash value, and may be changed or ended as permitted by law.

If you subscribe to our emails through a signup form, at checkout, or when you sign in to your account, you agree to receive marketing emails from Great Northern Fragrance Co., Great Northern Candle Co., and Joy Diffusion Perfumes. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email.
Text message program. We offer an optional text message marketing program. By opting in through a signup form on our website or the text message opt-in checkbox at checkout, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Great Northern Candle Co., including Great Northern Fragrance Co. and Joy Diffusion Perfumes, at the mobile number you provide. Messages may include new releases, restocks, limited-edition notices, and offers. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies.
Costs. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Opting out. You may cancel at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in each message. After you opt out, you may receive one final message confirming your request, and we will then stop sending marketing text messages to that number.

Candles must be used according to the safety instructions provided with the product or on our website, including supervision, wick maintenance, placement, and burn-time guidance.
Perfume, fragrance, and home-scent products are intended only for their stated use.
Discontinue use of any product if irritation or an adverse reaction occurs.
Keep products away from children and pets where appropriate.
