There's Only One Laura: Sour Cherry and Woodsmoke, Since 2015
Some perfumes arrive fully formed. Laura took years.
Where She Began
Laura was first poured in 2015 as a small-batch roll-on perfume oil, a single black cherry note that was simple, dark and sweet. She has been part of Great Northern from the very beginning.
Then life happened. The shop weathered some hard years, and Laura was set aside. But people never stopped asking for her.
Becoming a True Perfume
We kept working on her until the formula finally did her justice, with the cherry still at her heart and a fuller story built around it. The formula was finished in late September 2023. That October, the first samples went out and the first bottles sold in our brick-and-mortar shop. Laura was back as a true perfume, by popular demand.
Today Laura opens with tart sour cherry, bright and a little wild, then settles into soft woodsmoke, saffron and warm florals. It is a campfire at the edge of a cherry orchard: sweet, tart and a little dangerous.

Who She Is
We have always thought of Laura as a perfume about the life and goodness behind the story: warmth, kindness and a quiet strength. Not tragedy, but tenderness. That is why the cherry stays bright and the smoke stays soft.
How to Wear Laura
- On its own: one or two sprays on pulse points. The cherry is brightest in the first hour, and the smoke and florals carry it into evening.
- Layered: wear her over Interlude for a softer, skin-close version, or over Longing for Fire for more smoke.
- Head to toe: Laura lotion or body butter underneath helps the perfume last longer on dry skin.
